Pressure Washing in Delafield, WI

Lake Country, a short run out from home base in Waukesha. Every Delafield job is looked at in person before a number is given.

What’s different in Delafield

Delafield has several lakes, and away from the water it is heavily wooded. Those two things account for most of what we get called about here. A lakefront house stays damp off the water; a house back under the trees never gets the sun to dry out either. Both end up in the same condition by different routes.

House washing is most of the work out here. There is a range of homes, but they are primary residences rather than seasonal places — lived in and kept up year round. What usually brings the call is not neglect, it is what the trees do: shade that keeps a wall from drying, and the insects that come with heavy woods.

Why houses get dirty

The same weather everyone here complains about is what feeds the growth on your siding.

North walls never dry out

A north-facing wall gets no direct sun. It stays damp after every rain, and damp plus a humid Wisconsin summer is exactly what algae and mildew want. It is almost always the worst wall on the house.

Freeze-thaw works all winter

Water gets into the surface, freezes, expands and opens it up a little more each cycle. Concrete and masonry take the worst of it, and a rougher surface holds dirt better next season.

Road salt gets carried up

Salt off the street ends up on driveways, walks and the lower courses of siding all winter, then sits there until something washes it off.

Wooded lots hold moisture

Tree cover keeps a house shaded and damp and drops debris into the gutters, where it holds water long after the rest of the house has dried.

Spider webs, constantly

This is the thing homeowners here bring up first. Heavy woods and water together mean insects, and the webs go up along the soffits, in the eaves and around every exterior light. They are back not long after anyone clears them. It is the most common complaint we hear in Delafield.

Water on one side, trees on the other

Several lakes here, and heavy woods away from them. A lakefront wall stays damp off the water and a wooded lot never gets the sun to dry out, so growth gets a hold either way.

Brad was great to deal with! We had been in the house 5 years without touching the outside exterior, who knows how long before us. We have many oak trees surrounding our house, and Pristine made it new again! Highly recommend.

We bought a fixer upper and thought our siding was shot. Turns out it just needed a good cleanse. He inspected before scheduling, kept us updated all week while watching the weather. Our home looks incredible.

Delafield questions

Do you actually work in Delafield, or just drive through it?

We work here. House washing is most of what we do in Delafield, and the oak-tree wash on this site is one of those jobs — five years of growth off a house under heavy tree cover.

Do you get the spider webs off?

Yes. They come off with the wash — along the soffits, up in the eaves and around every exterior light, which is where they always are. It is the complaint we hear most in Delafield and the lake towns around it, more than algae on the siding, and it is usually what prompts the call in the first place.

When can you get to a job in Delafield?

The season runs from the end of April through the end of October. Spring and early summer are the busiest stretch of the year, so earlier calls get more choice of date. Sanding and sealing is June through August.
