A Waukesha house that had gone years without a wash, with algae banded along every lap of siding. Booked on the recommendation of another customer down the road.
Algae had settled into the lap lines and stayed there. On vinyl it collects along the bottom edge of each course, where water sits after every rain, so it shows up as green banding rather than an even film — one stripe per board, all the way up the wall. In the shaded corners it had gone darker and heavier, the way it does anywhere the sun never quite reaches. None of it was doing structural harm. It was simply years of growth that had never been taken off.
Siding type, how far the banding had spread, and every bed and shrub that needed soaking first.
Grass, hostas and beds saturated with plain water before any solution was mixed.
Solution applied at low pressure and given time to work. No pressure on the siding at any point.
House and everything under it rinsed down, then a walk-around together to check each wall.

100% positive recommendation on Pristine Pressure Washing! Shocked at how well our siding came clean. Great care taken around our landscaping. And friendly, personal service.

Because of how vinyl siding is shaped. Each course overhangs the one below it, and water runs to that bottom edge and sits there after every rain. Algae grows where the water stays, so it forms a band along the base of each board. Once you have seen it you notice it on half the houses on the street.
Eventually, on any house. Killed at the root rather than rinsed off, most homes here look right for about two years. Shaded walls and wooded lots come back sooner because they never dry out properly.
Not the way we do it. Everything gets soaked with plain water before any solution is mixed, and watered again after. On this job the hostas ran the length of the wall that needed the most work, and they were fine.
