A Brookfield home carrying years of organic growth across the siding, with moss taking hold on one section of roof. Both handled in a single visit, all soft wash.
Growth had been building on this house for years. It was heaviest up in the gable, where the siding sits high and shaded and never dries out quickly, and it had spread down the walls from there. One section of the roof had gone further than that, with moss established in the shingles rather than just staining on top of them. Growth on siding is an appearance problem for a long time before it becomes anything else. Moss in shingles is different, because it holds water against the roof and lifts the edges as it thickens.
Siding type, how far the growth had traveled, and which roof sections had moss rather than staining.
Grass, beds and shrubs saturated with plain water before any solution was mixed.
Solution applied at low pressure and given time to work. No pressure on the siding or the shingles at any point.
House rinsed down along with everything under it, then a walk-around together to check each wall.

Pristine did a great job! We are very pleased with how our home looked post-cleaning. Brad was very professional and thorough. Attention to detail was very evident and I would absolutely recommend Pristine!

Height and shade. The gable sits above the roof line where it stays damp longer after rain, and it gets less direct sun than the walls below it. It is also the part nobody ever cleans, because reaching it safely from a ladder is not something most homeowners should be doing.
It is a problem once it is established. Staining on shingles is cosmetic, but moss holds water against the roof and thickens over time, which lifts shingle edges. Getting it off early is cheaper than the alternative.
No, and pressure is how roofs get ruined. Shingles have a granule surface that comes off under force and does not come back. Solution and dwell time take the moss out without touching the granules.
